With Grateful Hearts

President Jeff Nygren
In recent weeks, the doors of the Farmington New Mexico Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have been open to all. Tens of thousands of you— friends, neighbors, and travelers from afar —have walked its halls, admired its beauty, and felt the quiet peace that fills its rooms. I am deeply moved by the love, kindness, and respect you have shown during this sacred and historic moment for our community.

For members of our faith, the temple is more than a beautiful building—it is the house of the Lord, a place where we come to draw closer to Jesus Christ. Everything within its walls points to Him: the teachings, the artwork, the ordinances, and the covenants made. In the temple, we remember His perfect example, learn His gospel more deeply, and commit to follow Him in our daily lives. It is a place where we feel His peace and His love, and where that love extends to all of God’s children, both living and departed.

Your presence turned this open house into far more than a tour—it became a celebration of unity. We met people of every background and belief, each bringing an open heart and a willingness to share in something beautiful. In your smiles, your thoughtful questions, and your expressions of wonder, we saw the best of what it means to live together as friends and neighbors.
We offer special thanks to the many hands and hearts who made this possible—dedicated volunteers, community leaders, and workers who ensured every detail was cared for. You have shown that service is a language everyone understands, and your generosity will long be remembered.
As the temple is dedicated and begins its sacred purpose, we will remember this open house as a time of connection and shared joy. Thank you for being part of this important moment in our history. We look forward to continuing to serve, worship, and grow alongside you as friends and neighbors in this wonderful community.
Lovingly,
President Jeff Nygren
